Thank you for discussing fertilizer labeling in your blog. I would like to clarify that OMRI is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit that reviews inputs such as fertilizers for organic use. OMRI listing is generally accepted among certifiers as proof of compliance with the National Organic Program rules. However, we do not use the term “organic” for the input products that are reviewed by OMRI. This is because it may cause confusion in the marketplace between certified organic food and fiber, versus input products for organic use. For further information, please visit the OMRI website at http://www.omri.org.
